ancient hamlets and breathtaking views

Uniqueness

Nestled amongst the hills and start of the uplands, the area of the Pordenone foothills is a real treasure that deserves to be discovered, where unspoilt natural landscapes conceal authentic and undiscovered places steeped in art and culture.

We stand at the foot of the Friulian Dolomites, a great arc running from Cansiglio di Caneva in the west to the waters of the Arzino river in the east, contained within the Carnic Prealps. One side rises over the Friulian plains, commanding vast panoramas, while the other offers detailed views of the mountains and valleys crossed, through uninterrupted woodland and terraces hosting villages and hamlets; some real treasures of vernacular architecture.

Here, tourism

is a slow and profound journey, inviting visitors to explore every corner with calm and curiosity, discovering a land full of surprises, whatever the season. From the open green meadows of spring to warm autumnal woodland colours.

This area boasts a rich and varied cultural heritage: wandering along the cobbled streets of our towns, visitors can discover ancient churches, historical residences and squares where time seems to have stood still.

Every corner tells tales of daily life, arts and trades passed down through the generations, such as ironmongery, mosaic work, carpentry and ceramics.

Sports, adventure and food and wine

For those who love sport and adventure, the region offers boundless experiences: hiking or mountain biking along panoramic trails, climbing on sheer faces for the boldest and even spectacular paragliding and hang-gliding from Mount Valinis.

The crystalline waters of mountain streams and lakes, perfect for kayaking or canyoning and fishing, offer the ideal setting to relax and have fun immersed in nature.

Of course, delicious food and wine specialities also abound. Tasting tours will lead you on a journey of discovery, enjoying authentic traditional local flavours, from native wines, cheeses, honey, salamis, fruit and Slow Food™-certified produce such as the Red Onion of Cavasso Nuovo and La Pitina, the stars of local dishes prepared with fresh and natural ingredients.

Little villages and welcoming inns await you with a wonderful family atmosphere, where hospitality lives on in every gesture.

This fascinating and varied corner of the world is the perfect destination for slow tourism, far from the crowds.

Here, you can enjoy an authentic experience, immersed in a land of simple and genuine stories, natural beauty and restorative silence.
